Catholic Charities offers the First Episode Psychosis (FEP) program, which is an early intervention approach for individuals aged 12-18 to prevent serious mental illness.

Changes in Thought or Perception

  • Difficulty filtering out distractions
  • Disorganized thinking or speech
  • Inability to tell what is real or unreal
  • Marked suspicion of others
  • Beliefs that are unusual or odd
  • Hearing voices or seeing visions

Sudden Changes in Behavior

  • Lost ability at school or work
  • Tendency to isolate
  • Changed expressions or appearance
  • Loss of shared interests
  • Having new interests that are hard for others to relate to

Participants in FEP Learn to…

  • Recognize and manage these experiences
  • Discredit the false myths they generate
  • Exercise self-care
  • Communicate with others
  • Address problems at work or school

FEP offers services that are combined and tailored to fit the needs of each individual, including assessment, family education, individual resiliency, psychiatric support, educational support and vocational support.

FEP is available across all of Delaware.

Your first step to receiving help is to call for an appointment. You will meet with an intake coordinator to complete the necessary paperwork and schedule your first appointment with a licensed therapist. We accept clients into treatment as quickly as possible, assigning you to a therapist within 2-3 days (given availability).

FEP is available across all of Delaware. To learn more about FEP, call (302) 655-9624. A phone screen is confidential, brief and at your convenience.
